Understanding Starts Here

Find Clarity in these Polarizing Times.

My name is Edina Brown

Most leaders think productive dialogue requires agreement.

But after navigating hundreds of contentious council meetings in a deeply polarized community, I learned that progress doesn't always require consensus, yet it requires understanding.

As a Councilwoman, I had to make critical decisions with colleagues and constituents who saw the world much differently than I did .

I served my community during the protests in May of 2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic,  all while navigating polarizing perspectives. We couldn't wait for everyone to agree. We had to keep the water running, fix the roads, and serve our community—even when division was the baseline. It took me years of trial and error - in and outside of the political arena - to discover how to get along and work efficiently with others, despite having polarizing perspectives.

Those experiences taught me the communication strategies that actually work when stakes are high, emotions run higher, and agreement feels impossible.

I'll teach you and your team how to build bridges and meet goals even when you are on opposite sides of the issue.
